The Philadelphia 76ers are considered one of the winners of the offseason as they greatly improved their roster ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season.

The 76ers made the biggest splash in the league when they lured Paul George away from the Los Angeles Clippers with a four-year max deal.

Philadelphia then managed to improve on the fringes by signing Caleb Martin, Andre Drummond and Eric Gordon while also bringing back Kyle Lowry and Kelly Oubre Jr.

On paper, the 76ers have the requisite talent and depth to compete at the top of the Eastern Conference and should be on the shortlist for championship contention.

However, the team could still use more options in the frontcourt behind Joel Embiid.

With that in mind, Philadelphia is reportedly bringing in French forward Guerschon Yabusele on a one-year deal via Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

“Free agent F Guerschon Yabusele has agreed on a one-year, $2.1 million minimum deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources tell ESPN. Yabusele is rejoining the NBA’s Eastern Conference after leaving the Boston Celtics for Real Madrid in 2019,” Wojnarowski reported.

Yabusele put himself back on the NBA’s radar after a strong run with the French national team during the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The former Boston Celtics draft pick showed what he could do in extended minutes, hitting open 3-pointers and cutting towards the basket for rim-shaking dunks.

Yabusele should slot in behind Martin off the bench, though he could toggle as a small-ball center if needed.

This is a good low-risk move for Philadelphia who is clearly all-in on a title.
