HC Fribourg-Gottéron in advanced talks with two import players
Gerd Zenhäusern, team manager of HC Fribourg-Gottéron, is busy building the Dragons’ roster for the next season. Two players have supposedly caught his eyes.
As Grégory Beaud (“Blick”) reports, HCFG is in advanced discussions with SC Bern’s Patrik Nemeth and Rögle BK’s Michael Kapla. The two defensemen would potentially replace Ryan Gunderson and Andreas Borgman whose contracts will likely not be extended.
It remains to be seen whether the Dragons will close a deal with Nemeth and/or Kapla. Nemeth is in his second season with SC Bern and has recorded one goal and nine assists in 22 games.
Kapla, for his part, has been playing in Europe since the 2020-21 season. The 30-year-old defenseman first played in the HockeyAllsvenskan and then suited up for Skellefteå AIK and Rögle BK in the SHL. This season, he has put up three goals and four assists in 10 games.
