‘Will be good’… Phil Parkinson confirms plans for Wrexham scouting mission this weekend

Wrexham are not in action this weekend after already being knocked out of the FA Cup.

The Red Dragons were supposed to compete in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday evening but Wrexham’s clash with Port Vale was postponed due to weather conditions.

They were originally scheduled to take on Reading in a League One match this weekend but that game isn’t going ahead due to the FA Cup.

Wrexham are already out of the competition after losing 1-0 to Harrogate Town in the first round, but Reading will take on Burnley on January 11th.

In turn, the Welsh side are not due to take to the field again until Thursday the 16th of January against rivals Shrewsbury Town.

This means the Wrexham players and Phil Parkinson have a weekend to do as they wish.

A number of Wrexham players are injured currently and will likely welcome this unexpected break as they work toward a return.

Jack Marriott, Elliot Lee and Lewis Brunt are among the stars sidelined at present.
