Blue Jays Predicted To Trade $427 Million Vladimir Guerrero Jr. To NL Contender
The Toronto Blue Jays may be considering trading their superstar infielder Vladimir Guerrero Jr. this winter. While the team has reportedly been working toward a contract extension, it doesn’t appear as though one is close. The Blue Jays could look to net a huge return for the superstar. Bleacher Report’s Zachary Rymer recently pitched a trade which would send Guerrero to the San Francisco Giants for a loaded return. Here’s the deal pitched by Rymer to send Guerrero to the Giants: San Francisco Giants receive: 1B/3B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Toronto Blue Jays receive: RHP Camilo Doval, INF Marco Luciano, OF James Tibbs III (No. 2 prospect) “Though one wonders if they’re the mystery team on Alonso that Sammon and Rosenthal alluded to, it’s hard to imagine the Giants actually signing a slugger,” Rymer wrote. “They’ve tried. And tried and tried. On Bryce Harper. On Aaron Judge. On Shohei Ohtani. Since all of them ultimately said ‘no thanks,’ the trade market feels like the Giants’ only hope of adding a top-tier home run hitter.
“Hence Guerrero, and it wouldn’t necessarily have to be a one-year arrangement. The Giants have been in a spending mood recently, committing $333 million just to Matt Chapman and Willy Adames in recent months. They could conceivably make Guerrero an extension target.” If the Giants want to close the gap on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West, a trade like this is the only way to do it. San Francisco has been very close to landing a plethora of different stars, but this is the opportunity for the Giants to finally land the player that puts them back on the map.
