Face-off time of CHL Final 2024 confirmed

The face-off time for the Champions Hockey League Final 2024 on 20 February 2024 between Genève-Servette and Skellefteå AIK has been confirmed!

The ultimate game of the season in the Patinoire des Vernets in Geneva, Switzerland, will start at 19:30 CET!

With the culmination of the 2024/25 Champions Hockey League season now under 20 days away, it’s time to remind ourselves just how well our Finalists, ZSC Lions Zurich and Färjestad Karlstad, have played up to this point and compare their LGT Top Scorers and a few players that could make a big difference on the ice come the big game – scroll down to find out who we picked!

Starting with the LGT Top Scorers – we’ve got two players who have been lethal all season long and were both honoured by being short-listed for the prestigious 2024/25 LGT MVP Award some weeks ago (don’t forget – the winner will be announced at the CHL Final!).

Sven Andrighetto

31-year-old Swiss international Sven Andrighetto has been a menace on Europe’s biggest club ice hockey stage, racking up a whopping 20 points (8G, 12A) in 11 games played as it looks like he’s been laser-focused on productivity.

The former Montréal Canadien and Colorado Avalanche forward wasn’t as prolific in the Regular Season, but when the intensity really ramped up in the knockout rounds, he’s proved himself again and again.

A three-point night against the Straubing Tigers in the Round of 16 First Game was just the start, as Andrighetto scored four points in the Return Game, four more across the Quarter-Finals against a resilient Eisbären Berlin side and four in their Semi-Finals series against reigning CHL Champions Genève-Servette.

A healthy split of goals and assists have made the Zurich player a nuisance for both goalies and defencemen and helped the Swiss side sway games in their favour – watch out for him on the CHL Final ice!

Oskar Steen

This 26-year-old talent has been a blast since joining Färjestad Karlstad ahead of this season and Oskar Steen’s excellent performances in the Champions Hockey League leave him Top Scorer of the Swedish club heading into the biggest game of the CHL calendar.

Steen has cemented himself firmly atop the Regular Season Winners’ scoring charts with 18 points (6G, 12A) in 12 games played – that’s a whopping 1.5 points-per-game average!

Steen has been a workhorse for the in-form Finalists, recording a mighty +11 plus/minus, two powerplay goals, a game-winner and producing close to 4,5 Expected Goals – nearly double that of his second-placed teammate.

He’s also been actively taking part of Färjestad’s all-on physical play with a strong seven hits. The cherry on top is his sparkling face-off percentage that’s nearing the stunning 70% mark.
