Exclusive: Sheffield Utd, West Brom and Wrexham chase Luton talent Oliver Lynch
Luton loan star Oliver Lynch is being tracked by a host of EFL clubs following his impressive form at Hemel Hempstead, sources have told Football Insider.
Lynch came through the youth ranks with the Hatters, and has previously had spells on loan with Hitchin Town and Dulwich Hamlet.
Back in the January transfer window, the 19-year-old completed another loan move when he joined Hemel Hempstead Town on loan from Luton until the end of the season.
The centre-forward is already making a big impact for the National League South side, who currently sit 15th in the sixth-tier of English football.
Lynch has been in excellent form for Hemel Hempstead since making his temporary move to the club, scoring five goals in just four games.
That recently saw him pick up the league’s Player of the Month award for January, and he has not stopped there.
On Saturday (8 February), the Luton loanee was on the scoresheet once again as Hemel Hempstead secured a 4-2 win over Chippenham Town.
In doing so, the teenager may well have caught the eye of a number of Football League clubs who were monitoring his progress at that match.
It is understood that up to eight EFL scouts were in attendance to watch the 6ft 5in forward get on the scoresheet for Hemel Hempstead at the weekend.
Sheffield United and West Brom, who will both have eyes on winning promotion to the Premier League this season are among those who are keeping an eye on the striker.
Another Championship side understood to be keen are Stoke City, who by contrast are looking to steer clear of the second-tier relegation zone between now and the end of the season.
Two of the current promotion chasers in League One, Stockport County and Wrexham, are also among the numerous Football League clubs showing an interest in Lynch.
Luton, who recently appointed Matt Bloomfield as their new manager, are themselves fighting to avoid the drop into League One during the current campaign.
The Hatters are so far yet to bounce back after relegation from the Premier League last season, and are rooted in the Championship relegation zone as things stand.
