A couple of weeks ago, Jackson announced he would take his talents to Japan after a disappointing end to his 2023 campaign. The 27-year-old was drafted by the Dodgers in the 12th round of the 2017 draft. He worked his way up the minor leagues, and ended up making the Dodgers’ Opening Day roster in 2023. Overall, Jackson appeared in 14 MLB games with the Dodgers across three seasons. He had a 4.15 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 35 strikeouts in 39 innings pitched.

Jackson last pitched for the Dodgers on June 10, 2023. After that, the Dodgers DFA’d him and flipped him to the Pittsburgh Pirates for cash in late June 2023. Jackson had a 4.33 ERA in 12 games and seven starts with Pittsburgh, and will now be hoping to resurrect his professional baseball career in Japan. At just 27 years old, there’s plenty of time for Jackson to make an MLB comeback, if he so chooses. For now, though, fans of Jackson will have to tune into the NPB to watch him pitch.
