Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell took to X to share his thoughts on Jarrett Allen not being named an Eastern Conference All-Star injury replacement on Tuesday.

One member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell, was named a 2024 NBA All-Star last week.

There was a chance that another would join him since two Eastern Conference All-Stars, Joel Embiid and Julius Randle, will both miss the game due to injury.

However, when the NBA announced its injury replacements for Embiid and Randle on Tuesday, Cleveland center Jarrett Allen was not one of them.

Soon after the news was announced, Mitchell took to X to share his thoughts.

His “thinking” emoji response indicated that he was wondering why his teammate was not one of the Eastern Conference’s two injury replacements.

Allen was previously selected as an injury replacement for the 2022 All-Star Game. When selected, he was averaging 16.2 points, 11.1 rebounds (ninth in NBA), and 1.4 blocks (13th in NBA) per game over 49 contests, while ranking second in the league with a 66.5% field goal percentage.

Donovan Mitchell scores 29 as rolling Cavs improve to 14-1 in last 15 with 136-110 win over Kings

Through his first 43 games this season, the 25-year-old is averaging 15.6 points, 10.6 rebounds (ninth in NBA), and 1.1 blocks per game, while ranking fourth in the league with a 64.9% field goal percentage. The Cavaliers are also 30-13 when Allen plays this season.

He has been one of the NBA’s most dominant players over the Wine and Gold’s last 19 games. During this span, Allen ranks top-three in the NBA in both rebounds per game (13.5, second) and double-doubles (17, tied for third). Cleveland is also a league-best 16-3 during this stretch.

The Cavaliers will begin a three-game road trip tomorrow night, when they take on the Washington Wizards at 7 p.m.
