Brennan Johnson and Brice Samba react after 29-year-old leaves Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest announced the departure of forgotten man Richie Laryea last week – and several players from past and present have reacted.
The comments were posted on the player’s Instagram.
So, what has been said about Laryea after he finally made a permanent exit away from the City Ground? Let’s take a closer look…
Well, it didn’t prove to be the life-changing move to Europe that Laryea might have hoped for.
Laryea made just five appearances for Forest and was perhaps a victim of the team’s success.
Laryea went out on loan twice to Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps and now he’s back with the former.
The 29-year-old signed for Forest from Toronto FC but failed to really make an impact on the senior ranks.
He’s now completed a permanent switch to Toronto FC and as a Canadian player, it’s fair to say he will see this move as a return home.
Players react on Instagram as Laryea departs the City Ground
It would seem as though the Canada international was a popular player during his time at the City Ground.
After taking to Instagram to speak of his pride in representing Forest, he’s received comments from Brennan Johnson and Brice Samba – among others.
Johnson moved to Tottenham for £47.5 million in the summer and he said: “Good luck brother. It was a pleasure.”
Samba was another player to depart Forest but he left in the summer of 2022 after promotion.
He posted: “Brudda”, and also included a love heart emoji alongside it.
Laryea’s time at Forest won’t live long in the memory of the fan base given a lack of game time.
He’s another player who has spoken well of the football club after leaving though and in our view, he deserves the well wishes of the supporters.
