What the Boston Bruins need to do to cause damage during Stanley Cup playoffs
Tyler Yaremchuk and former NHL player, now analyst Colby Cohen talk about what the Boston Bruins need to do to cause some damage during their Stanley Cup Playoffs run.
Tyler Yaremchuk: Is there anything or anyone in Boston that you think can step up and be capable of helping this Bruins team go on a long run? Is there anyone in Boston that makes you go “Okay, maybe they are a contender” like if you saw eight great starts from Ilya Samsonov in Toronto, do you believe in the Leafs more all of a sudden? Is there something there that you think could maybe make them a contender?
Colby Cohen: Well it’s Boston. I know people think they’re frauds or whatever, but at the end of the day let’s not kid ourselves, Boston has the best goaltending tandem in the NHL. We have seen how important two goalies have become and not just relying on one goalie, even in the playoffs. Look at Alex Lyon out in Florida last year, he got to start the playoffs and kickstart that Panthers team before Bob took over, goalies don’t play every single night anymore, so I think if you factor that into the Bruins, they can get there.
Colby Cohen: They just need to manage the puck better in the natural zone, when they don’t manage the puck well and begin to riverboat it they get into trouble. But if they can manage the neutral zone with the puck and really limit their turnovers, I really do think they can do more in the playoffs compared to other teams especially if they catch the Maple Leafs in the opening round.
