West Ham could replace Lucas Paqueta with ultra-talented £34 million Inter Milan star

West Ham United may well be forced into looking for a replacement for Lucas Paqueta in the summer transfer window.

Lucas Paqueta has been sensational for West Ham over the past 20 months, but unfortunately for us he’s already being linked with a big money summer move to Manchester City.

It has been claimed that the Brazilian has his heart set on playing for Man City next season, so keeping hold of him will be nigh-on impossible for David Moyes.

The 26-year-old former Lyon man is so important to our hopes of success, so it’s understandable for the Hammers fans to be concerned about life after Paqueta.

However, the key for Moyes will be to get a ready-made replacement to come in to fill the void left behind by the Brazilian, if he does indeed leave this summer.

And it seems as though that’s exactly what the Scot has up is sleeve…

If the silky play-maker is moved on in the summer transfer window, Moyes apparently has an extremely talented replacement lined up.

According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, West Ham are in for Inter Milan owned youngster Valentin Carboni, and we’ll have to pay £34 million to sign him this summer.

Interestingly, we actually tried to sign him back in January, but couldn’t get a deal over the line in the end.

He’s currently spending the season on loan with Monza, and has really impressed for them so far.

Monza manager Raffaele Palladino recently raved about Carboni, describing him as a ‘jewel’, as quoted by Sempre Inter:

“Talent must be protected. Carboni is a jewel. Now he is ready to prove his worth. I’m not worried about the media exposure as we’re talking about a very serious young man.”

The South American starlet possesses outstanding technical ability and is an absolute joy to watch play football.

Described by Goal as the ‘new Dybala’, the teenage play-maker has the footballing world at his feet.

Carboni is incredibly comfortable with the ball at his feet, and he floats in between midfield and attack. The ball sticks to his feet, just like it does with Paqueta.

He has a really keen eye for a killer pass, and this enables him to open up teams who like to sit back and defend.

The South American starlet stands at 6ft 1in tall as well, so he should be perfectly suited to Premier League football what with its physicality and robust, aggressive nature.

In 23 Serie A outings for Monza this season, he has bagged two goals and four assists (Transfermarkt) – not bad for someone who’s only just turned 19!

He might not be the finished article just yet but trust me, he has all of the ingredients needed to become an even better player than West Ham star Lucas Paqueta.
