Allan Nyom played for both Watford and West Brom during his four-year spell in England from 2015 to 2019.

The wing-back is now back in Spain playing for Segunda Division side Leganes and they are currently sat at the top of the table.

Nyom, who is now 35-years-old, has been a regular for the Madrid-based club since joining them a couple of years ago.

They are eyeing promotion to La Liga and the veteran may well be lining up against the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid next season if they can get themselves over the line.

Former Watford and West Brom man eyeing La Liga promotion

Watford snapped up Nyom from Udinese back in 2015 after he caught their eye playing on loan for Granada.

He went on to make 37 appearances for the Hornets during his stint in Hertfordshire but only ended up spending just over 12 months at Vicarage Road.

Nyom was a regular during his Hawthorns days and played 67 matches for the Baggies altogether.

However, they were relegated to the Championship in his second year and he was subsequently loaned out to Leganes.

West Brom cut ties with him permanently in 2019 and he ended up joining Getafe before switching back to the Estadio Municipal de Butarque.

Nyom has become a key player for his current team and is looking to help them rise back into the top flight.

Leganes dropped out of La Liga in 2020 and have finished 12th and 14th respectively over the past two years which makes them being top right now even more impressive.

They are four points clear of Elche in 2nd but have drawn their last three games on the spin 0-0 with seven fixtures left to play.

Nyom’s deal expires in late June and he is due to become a free agent. He has enjoyed plenty of game time this term though and it would be a surprise if they let him leave.

Trips to the Santiago Bernabeu and Nou Camp could be on the horizon for the ex-Watford and West Brom man soon despite the fact he is entering the final stages of his career.
