Tennessee selects former Huntsville Hornet Sweat in Second Round of 2024 NFL Draft

DETROIT, Michigan (KBTX) – Former Huntsville Hornet and Texas defensive lineman T’Vondre Sweat was selected with the 38th overall pick in the Second Round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans.

Sweat was the Outland Trophy Award winner and unanimous first-team All-American last year as a fifth-year senior. He totaled 45 tackles, 8 for loss, 2 sacks, 4 pass breakups, and a blocked kick last season.

Sweat and the Texas defense led the Big 12 in third-down defense (26.6 percent) and rushing defense (82.4 ypg), respectively ranking second and third nationally in each category. The Longhorns were also seventh nationally in red zone defense (73.8 percent), 15th in scoring defense (18.9 ppg) and 25th in total tackles for loss (85).
