Rapper and erstwhile Martha Stewart BFF Snoop Dogg will be coming to Montreal this summer as part of his 11-stop Cali to Canada tour.
Tickets for the June 9 show at the Bell Centre, with Warren G, DJ Quik and DJ Green Lantern, will be available on pre-sale at 10 a.m. April 3, then available to the public April 5, Ticketmaster indicates.
In recent years, Snoop Dogg has come to Montreal to DJ an event celebrating a marijuana company and to speak at C2 about the cannabis industry. At the latter conference, he was presented with a Montreal Canadiens jersey by Mayor Valérie Plante.
The jersey did not stop him from trying to buy the Ottawa Senators last year as part of a group that also included actor Ryan Reynolds. (The bid failed.)
In February, the 52-year-old rapper sued Walmart, alleging the brand was sabotaging his cereal brand by hiding it from its shelves.
Anyhow, Tuesday’s announcement — and the fact his previous tour date is on June 6 in Quebec City — suggest Snoop will be spending Grand Prix weekend in Montreal. His concert will be a few hours after the race’s conclusion, so some people will inevitably have quite the Sunday!
