Rumors: Milwaukee Bucks Make To Trade With Divisional Rival To Land Star

The Milwaukee Bucks have a lot of options to look at this offseason when making potential roster moves. Milwaukee could decide to start all over or they could decide to build around Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. The Bucks could choose to get younger or they could get more veterans.

Milwaukee has not gotten past the first round of the NBA Playoffs in the past two years. The Milwaukee Bucks lost to the Indiana Pacers in six games. As the third seed in the Eastern Conference, they failed to advance to the next round after having home-court advantage in the first-round series once again.

There will be other teams across the NBA that will look to make trades to shake up the roster this offseason. A lot of player movement might be happening on the Bucks before the 2024-2025 season begins.

Fran Levia Of Fadeawaysports.com Believes That the Milwaukee Bucks Should Trade Khris Middleton and AJ Green To the Chicago Bulls For DeMar DeRozan

Levia has a mock trade for the Bulls and the Bucks that would feature Khris Middleton and AJ Green for DeMar DeRozan. Khris Middleton is 32 years old and DeMar DeRozan is 34 years old. The Chicago Bulls are looking to make adjustments to the roster after just missing out on the playoffs once again this season by losing to the Miami Heat in the NBA Play-In Tournament.

Fran Levia said of the Bucks moving on from Middleton this offseason by saying:“Khris Middleton found himself stepping up heroically in the first round of the playoffs with both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard sidelined. Despite this valiant effort, his overall performance this season lagged behind his peak years on their championship run, contributing only 15.1 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game, compounded by frequent injuries.”

Middleton has not been reliable with his health for the Milwaukee Bucks. It would be wise to move off of his contract this offseason. However, trading him for DeRozan is an interesting move. Some of the reasoning Levia gave for the Bulls moving on from DeRozan is due to:

“The Chicago Bulls are set to re-sign DeMar DeRozan, potentially for three years at a total of $75 million. However, as the Bulls failed to make the playoffs and seem to be at the end of a cycle with their current core, keeping DeRozan might not align with their long-term plans. Trading him for Middleton not only brings a tested veteran but also adds a young shooter in AJ Green, which can aid Chicago’s rebuilding efforts centered around Coby White. This move could also pave the way for further trades involving other veterans on the Bulls’ roster.

Green feels like a player that the Milwaukee Bucks would not want to move on from. Milwaukee needs to keep youth and not trade it away. However, DeMar DeRozan averaged 24.0 PPG a season ago with the Chicago Bulls.
