The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys have split their two meetings this season.

Even so, the Cowboys could have bragging rights over them right now, as they were the better team both times.

Mike McCarthy’s team made a big statement on Sunday night, taking down their rivals on national television with a 33-13 statement win.

That’s why team owner Jerry Jones feels great about his team right now.

With that in mind, he reportedly told Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie that he hopes they meet again this season (via Jori Epstein).

“God, I hope we get to play again,” Jones said to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie.

Of course, another meeting would come in a postseason setting, and it would be crucial for both teams not only for obvious reasons but also for their shared history.

The Eagles and Cowboys are perhaps the most passionate rivalry in the entire National Football League, and perhaps in professional sports.

These teams and these players really don’t like each other, and you can tell it means more for them every single time they set foot on the field.

The Cowboys have fallen short of their goal way too many times already, but it seems like they’re finally ready to put their woes behind them and go the distance this season.
