Conor Townsend, a d for West Brom, has said that he doesn’t think Leicester City will be excited about their trip to The Hawthorns, the “efenderfortress” of the Baggies.
On Saturday, December 2, in front of the Albion fans, Carlos Corberan’s team takes on the leaders of the Championship. They are in great form going into the match, having won both of their games since the international break in November.
With just one loss in their first nine games at The Hawthorns this season, the Baggies have been outstanding at home. Townsend thinks that Leicester will be concerned by West Brom’s recent performance before their match.
He stated, as reported by the Express & Star on December 1st, “We are aware that this will be a difficult game.” We’re enjoying a strong run of play, and they lead the league for a reason. We understand that it’s been a challenging area for teams to come, so they might not be fond of it when they arrive here.
“It’s going to be an amazing match between two excellent teams, and hopefully we can win.” If it wasn’t packed, I’d be shocked; by 12:30, I think the place will be hopping. Fans of Leicester, they’ll sell out theirs; it’s only a short trip.
“Hopefully, we can keep fortifying The Hawthorns and making it a terrifying place to come.
Most West Brom fans would have laughed at the idea that table-topping Leicester City would be scared to visit The Hawthorns in December after the first few weeks of the season, but the Baggies have been playing some very good football lately, and they are now a very formidable opponent.
This season, few sides in the Championship have been as difficult to defeat as Corberan’s group, and in recent weeks, they have found the goals to kill teams, particularly at The Hawthorns.
As Albion waits to see if their takeover is ultimately completed, funds will be scarce during the transfer window once more. Players are anticipated to be sold if the proper offer is made for them during the January transfer window.
Selling Molumby would help raise some much-needed cash, and since he hasn’t played much lately, Corberan wouldn’t miss him too much in the second half of the season.
The Irishman is currently a spare part for this West Brom team, and it would be best for everyone if he left in January.
