Tottenham are ready to make a move for England’s star, who is available for a bargain price of £15.5 million.
So far, Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham Hotspur have had a very successful season.
It just goes to show how quickly fan expectations can change when, after a stunning start to life in the Premier League, a couple of poor results – clearly due to Tottenham’s injury crisis – and there appears to be a whiff of disappointment in the air.
The Premier League is so tight at the top that the top five could change multiple times in a single weekend depending on results.
Tottenham may now be fifth in the table, but they are only four points behind their north London rivals, Arsenal, who currently sit atop the English Premier League.
As long as their blip doesn’t turn into a full-fledged crisis, their fortunes should turn around again once their injured stars return.
Not to mention that the January transfer window opens in just a month, and it appears that Spurs will get a good deal, according to Calciomercato.
According to the outlet, Juventus has reduced the price of England U21 star Samuel Iling-Junior to €18m/£15.5m.
Tottenham are interested in bringing him back to London, which would mean he’d be working just five miles from his birthplace in Islington.
The prospect of returning ‘home’ will undoubtedly appeal to a player who has yet to make an impression in Serie A this season.

Radu Drăgușin’s agent Florin Manea revealed on November 21st that he met with Tottenham Hotspur in London about a potential deal for the Genoa star. Three days later, the player discussed his desire to play in the Premier League.
This season, the centre-back has one goal and one assist in 15 games, and his performance has piqued the interest of several clubs.
Tottenham is among the clubs that are ‘crazy about’ the 21-year-old, according to Calciomercato.it. He ‘risks being one of the big protagonists’ in January, they add.
Tottenham is one of the English clubs interested in signing the defender, and they have joined AC Milan in their pursuit.
ProSport reported on Thursday that Manchester United are interested in signing Drăgușin.
Following this claim, iAM Sport contacted the agent of the Romanian international for an update. In response, Manea stated that he will be in London soon, which may please Spurs if they are interested in acquiring his cleint’s services.
“He’s on a number of lists. For the time being, there is nothing concrete; let’s get a written offer or something, but I’m in London and will be meeting all week,” he said.
“He will probably move in the summer at the latest, I understand that Genoa also has some problems, they have to give some money to the state.”
The defender’s contract expires in 2027, and recent reports suggest that the Serie A club wants to extend it. His agent has stated that there will be no renewal unless a €30 million release clause is included.
“At the moment I haven’t signed the contract extension, I’m going to the Juventus match on the 15th and we’ll talk then,” he said.
“That’s what I’d like to ask them [the €30 million release clause], yes.” So… who wants to include a termination clause? If they don’t include it, I won’t sign, and they’ll have a problem. He has two years left on his contract and, think about it, he goes to Europe in the summer.
“If they don’t sell us then, they don’t get along with us, he’s in the last year of the contract, what do they do with him then?”
