49ers HC Shares His Thoughts On Eagles Game Controversy

The long-awaited clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers was somewhat stained by a rather controversial incident.

The Eagles’ head of security, Dom DiSandro, was thrown out of the game after getting tangled up in a scuffle with a 49ers player on the sidelines, all in front of the cameras.

The incident took place in the third quarter when star WR DeVonta Smith was slammed to the ground and taken to the sidelines.

There, DiSandro stepped in between him and the Niners’ Dre Greenlaw to separate them, pushing both of them apart.

That’s when the Niners’ LB seemed to get into a scuffle with DiSandro, leading to both of their ejections.

Regardless of his good intentions, chances are that ‘Big Dom’ faces some harsh penalties from the league, although there haven’t been any updates regarding that incident.

With that in mind, Niners HC Kyle Shanahan stated that he’s actually heard good things about DiSandro and didn’t think he did anything necessarily bad; it’s just that he didn’t have to be in that area to begin with (via David Lombardi).

Shanahan had been way more vocal about the situation shortly after the game, but he’s now taken a softer stance.

Nothing went the Eagles’ way in this matchup, and now people are wondering whether their defense was as tough as they made it seem throughout the course of the season.

Hopefully, we’ll get another edition of this new rivalry later in the campaign if they face off again in the NFC Championship Game.
