Sunday night showdown for Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia

Since the start of November, the Philadelphia Eagles have played the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers. The four teams were on the short list of Super Bowl contenders when the 2023 season opened and currently have a combined record of 32-16.

“I think it’s a challenge,” Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts said. “It’s definitely a challenge, for sure. That’s nothing foreign or nothing new, it’s just a matter of how you respond to it all.”

The Eagles aren’t through the gauntlet yet. Philadelphia plays the Cowboys again on Sunday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where Dallas has won 14 games in a row.

“You know you’re going to get everybody’s best every time you play someone, especially when you’re a good football team and being able to do the things you’ve done,” Hurts said of the schedule. “We’ve definitely been challenged and stretched out in a ton of different ways. But it’s about remaining resilient through it and always respond in the right way whether it’s a win or a loss. And so whether it’s playing in whatever type of conditions or whatever traveling circumstances we have, being able to overcome that. And that’s about how you prepare throughout the week, how you recover, how you do the small things and the little things to put yourself in the best position to do your job and help the team. That’s what it comes down to.”

In the four-game stretch, Philadelphia won three times. But the Eagles lost the last time out 42-19 to San Francisco – a defeat Hurts pinned on “not good execution.”
Philadelphia hasn’t lost back-to-back games with Hurts at quarterback in more than two years.
