Chicago Bulls unveil Ring of Honor, Michael Jordan first inductee

The Ring of Honor will induct new members every two years.

For basketball fans of a certain age, hearing the name Chicago Bulls evokes memories of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and the rest of the members of the 1990s dynasty.

On January 12, when the Bulls host the Golden State Warriors, a new Chicago Bulls Ring of Honor will be unveiled at the United Center.

The team announced the news on Tuesday

Bulls President Michael Reinsdorf commented on the news via a press release, saying, “The Chicago Bulls Ring of Honor will be a first-of-its-kind celebration honoring many of the legends who have helped shape our organization over the past 57 years, they have deep connections to our fans and community and represent a spirit of competition, hard work, and toughness.”

The 1995-96 Bulls will also be inducted as a team. They won a then-NBA record 72 games before capturing the franchise’s fourth NBA Championship against the Seattle Supersonics.

The Bulls plan to add to the Ring of Honor every two years, so the next induction will take place in 2026.
