BREAKING: Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence’s Future Availability Unclear After Injury Diagnosis
It is unclear when quarterback Trevor Lawrence can play again for the Jacksonville Jaguars following an injury he sustained during the team’s blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Lawrence has dealt with several injuries this season. His status to play against the Buccaneers was up in the air last week as he dealt with a concussion. Lawrence cleared the concussion protocol on Saturday and was able to play Sunday.
However, Lawrence was ruled out for a shoulder injury during the second half of the Jaguars loss Sunday. The injury appeared to put the Jaguars’ season in jeopardy with two games to go in the regular season; as Jacksonville is tied with the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans for the AFC South lead heading into Week 17.
The Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t sure when Lawrence can play again
Lawrence’s injury was revealed on Christmas Day. According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, Lawrence sustained a sprained shoulder on his (right) throwing arm. The Jaguars don’t think Lawrence’s injury is too major, but they are unsure if he can start against the Carolina Panthers in Week 17.
Lawrence’s health will be a major storyline this week. The Panthers showed they’re a force to be reckoned with for the rest of the season after they gave the Green Bay Packers a scare on Sunday. The Panthers lost 33-30 in a nailbiter.
The Jaguars will hope Lawrence can turn around this week to be healthy enough to make a difference against a suddenly competitive Panthers team led by rookie quarterback Bryce Young.
