San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver Willie Snead IV Calls Tua Tagovailoa Soft After Dolphins Playoff Loss
Plenty of people are laughing at the Miami Dolphins following their 26-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Wild Card Round Saturday evening in frigid Kansas City. Now, active NFL players are getting in on the clowning.
But, it’s not even a particularly good player. Instead, it’s San Francisco 49ers practice squad wide receiver Willie Snead IV that felt the need to throw shade at Tua Tagovailoa.
It can’t be argued that Tua Tagovailoa did not play well at all in the elements in Kansas City Saturday night. With the temperature at kick coming in at around -4 degrees Fahrenheit with the wind chill upwards of 20 degrees colder, the Hawaiian-raised Tagovailoa seemed well out of his element.
Tua was 20/39 for just 199 yards with one touchdown and one interception. His 53-yard hookup with Tyreek Hill for the team’s only points of the game was due to an incredible adjustment on a deep ball and not because of an outstanding throw by the quarterback. It was simply not a good day at all for Tagovailoa.
But, what leg does a guy who can’t even get on an active roster have to stand on when criticizing other NFL players for being soft. Taylor Swift has released more albums (3) than Willie Snead has catches since 2021 (2). Meanwhile, Tagovailoa just led the NFL in passing yards and made the Pro Bowl.
The 49ers will play in the NFL Divisional Round next week against an unknown opponent. Willie Snead IV likely won’t play, as he can’t make the active roster.
