Star RB Says He Was Close To Being Traded This Season

Titans: Derrick Henry committed to Tennessee amid trade rumors

Derrick Henry has been one of the best running backs in the NFL over the past several seasons.

He has also been a staple of the Tennessee Titans’ offense, one of the biggest reasons for their success in recent history.

However, Henry recently said in a conversation that he was nearly traded away from the team this season.

Henry’s teammate, Kevin Byard, was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles this year.

When talking, Henry said a deal for him to be traded “was close.”

If he were traded to the Eagles, Henry would have gotten the opportunity to partake in the playoffs this year.

While this conversation might have sparked some new news for Henry, he remained on the Titans roster at the end of the day.

At 30 years old, Henry’s days in the NFL are likely ending soon.

He has two years left on his current contract with the Titans, a team that many believe is in a rebuilding phase.

It will be interesting to see if he sticks around for the final two years of his deal or if Henry will seek a trade elsewhere in the offseason.

Henry could request a trade to a contending team, hoping to get a Super Bowl ring before he retires.

The Eagles could be an intriguing option in the offseason, as could a team like the Baltimore Ravens or Kansas City Chiefs.

Adding a player like Henry could help one of those teams get over the hump next year, especially as a depth piece down the stretch.
