Celtics injury report: All-Star added for Grizzlies game
The Celtics could be shorthanded when the host the Grizzlies at 6 p.m. Sunday at TD Garden. Jaylen Brown is listed as questionable with low back tightness and Luke Kornet is probable with his left hamstring strain.
Brown’s injury appears to be new as he wasn’t listed on the injury report beforehand. But it shouldn’t be anything serious as the forward was recently named an All-Star for the third time in his career. Kornet has been bogged down by the hamstring injury recently, which has kept him out of recent games.
The Celtics are welcoming back Marcus Smart to Boston for the first time since he was traded last summer. But the guard won’t be able to play as he’s been dealing with a hand injury. The Grizzlies have been slowed down significantly be injuries as they’re just 18-31 on the season.
The C’s are also looking to bounce back after their disappointing loss to the Lakers last time out. Los Angeles was shorthanded with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but the Lakers were lights out from 3-point land to hand Boston the loss. The C’s still have a league-best 37-12 record.
