Could the Browns target these low-risk, high-reward free-agent options? (video)
CLEVELAND, Ohio —The Browns will add to their roster over the next couple months, but the kinds of targets they go for will be important. Among the options that bring a mixture of low-risk, yet high-reward, here are three that Cleveland may target:
One could be running back J.K. Dobbins, whose season with Baltimore was cut short after suffering a torn Achilles. His 2020 rookie season is the only season in which he’s seen double-digit games (15), rushing for 805 yards and nine touchdowns.
The other couple options are currently preparing for Super Bowl LVIII with San Francisco: linebacker Randy Gregory and edge rusher Chase Young. Both will be free agents after the big game.
Cleveland’s linebacker unit exceeded expectations, but after the number of injuries, it doesn’t hurt to add to the unit. Gregory is a veteran who can be a solid rotational player, having racked up 6.0 sacks in two separate seasons in his career.
Injuries have limited Young since his 2020 Pro Bowl rookie season, but he’s been solid since and tied his career high this season with 7.5 sacks between his games with Washington and San Francisco.
