Former Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jesse Winker has signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals, according to reports

Terms of the contract, which includes an invitation to spring training, were not disclosed.

Winker, 30, played last season for the Milwaukee Brewers, where he posted a .199 batting average, .567 OPS and one home run in 166 at-bats across 61 games played. Prior to that, he played one season for the Seattle Mariners in 2022, hitting .219 with a .688 OPS and 14 home runs in 456 ABs in 136 games.

The seven-year Major League Baseball veteran spent his first five seasons with the Cincinnati Reds from 2017 to 2021, earning a National League All-Star selection in his final season with the team. The lefty slugger hit .305 with a .949 OPS, 32 doubles, 24 home runs and 71 RBI in 110 games for the Reds during his All-Star 2021 MLB season.

The news of Winker signing with the Nationals was first reported by The Washington Post’s Andrew Golden.
