Report:: Los Angeles Dodgers finalise agreement to sign Houston Astros superstar, report claim Astros trade ace to Dodgers to recoup assets

Houston Astros Superstar Connected to Dodgers in Trade Idea

Houston Astros: Kyle Tucker now has a chance to prove his worth - bellezatotal.com.ar

If the Houston Astros eventually decide to deal one of their superstars, he’s been linked to a National League powerhouse.

There is a lot of optimism surrounding the Houston Astros right now after they put together some moves this offseason that should have them contending for another World Series title.

There might be another big move out there that they could pull, but if nothing else happens, they still have a championship caliber roster.

One of the major wins of this free agency period was when the Astros locked up Jose Altuve to a massive contract extension that should have him with the franchise until he retires.

Next up on their list will be Alex Bregman, Framber Valdez and Kyle Tucker.

All three have been important pieces and they’d love to keep them around for years to come.

However, if they’re not able to get something done with Tucker, Zachary Rotman of FanSided thinks they might look to trade him with the Los Angeles Dodgers being a potential suitor.

“If they come to the conclusion that Kyle Tucker must be traded to recoup assets, the Dodgers are an obvious destination … We all know the Dodgers have tons of money to spend, especially after all of their deferred deals, and they also happen to have a strong farm system as well as young players Houston would covet,” he writes.

The Dodgers have done a fantastic job of maintaining a strong pipeline while competing for championships, something Houston has not been able to accomplish.

General manager Dana Brown is looking to rebuild their farm system. His scouting background and new front office structure should put more focus onto finding talented young players who they can develop.

If a Tucker extension isn’t able to be worked out, they should attempt to get back multiple coveted assets that would jumpstart this process.

Sending him out to Los Angeles certainly wouldn’t be ideal, but Rotman notes it would be organizationally irresponsible to lose a player of Tucker’s talent without getting something back in return.

Of course, this is all hypothetical as owner Jim Crane said as long as he’s in charge their championship window is open, hinting at some possible future deals getting done.
