Former Dodgers Reliever Signs With Oakland Athletics

Dodgers Injury Update: Scott Alexander Out For Remainder Of 2021 Season

Another former Los Angeles Dodger is on the move this offseason. The Oakland Athletics have signed former Dodgers left-handed pitcher Scott Alexander to a one-year deal. The team made the announcement on X on Wednesday.

Alexander spent four years with the Dodgers from 2018-21. In Dodger blue, Alexander appeared in 132 games and recorded a 3.49 ERA with 82 strikeouts, a 1.30 WHIP, and a 117 ERA+ in 111 innings. He only appeared in the postseason four times, all in 2018. He was far from spectacular as he recorded a 7.71 ERA, allowing one hit and two earned runs in 2.1 innings for the Dodgers.

After four seasons in sunny Southern California, he headed North and donned the black and orange for the past two seasons. As a member of the San Francisco Giants, he went 7-3 with a 3.70 ERA, 41 strikeouts, and a 1.20 WHIP. The Santa Rosa, California native is close to home once again, now joining two other former Dodgers — Alex Wood and Ross Stripling — in Oakland.
