Hull City boss on Tufan rumours, Huddersfield Town tie up deal

The Tigers notched a third successive away win at the John Smith’s Stadium to make it successive wins this week

Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior hailed the fighting spirit of his side after the Tigers grabbed a 94th-minute winner at Huddersfield Town. City led from the seventh minute of the Yorkshire derby at the John Smith’s Stadium after Jacob Greaves turned in and for long periods, it looked like that would be enough for the Tigers to earn a first win in this corner of West Yorkshire since 2013.

That was until Jack Rudoni slammed in the equaliser in the 93rd minute to salvage what seemed to be a point for the Terriers, but up popped Greaves to head in Abdulkadir Omur’s cross in the 94th minute to seal a huge victory on the road, amid celebratory scenes in a sold-out away end.

“I’m so proud of them, so proud of them, that that was a difficult game today,” Rosenior told Hull Live. “I always knew it would be, I warned the lads before the game.

“I think Jon’s (Worthington) done a magnificent job in his four games here. Every performance they’ve had under him beating Sheffield Wednesday four nil going away to Southampton and going away scoring three goals, beating a really good Sunderland team, it was never going to be easy today and there’s a real good spirit between him and the fans and I think if they play like that for the rest of the season, they’re going to be absolutely fine.

“For us, I’m so proud because you have to find different ways to win in the Championship and sometimes we’ve played way better than that and come out with a point or come out with a loss.
