Hull City primed for Huddersfield Town’s ‘bullying’ techniques as boss talks ref protection

Hull City will be searching for their first win at Huddersfield Town since 2013

Hull City can expect Huddersfield Town to attempt to bully them this afternoon when the pair meet at the John Smith’s Stadium, based on comments made by Sorba Thomas.

Thomas revealed how the Terriers’ plan to bully Sunderland worked a treat on Tuesday night, with the struggling West Yorkshire side notching up their second successive home win under caretaker boss Jon Worthington, who will relinquish the role after the game with André Breitenreiter taking over next week.

Like Sunderland, City are a young side with flair players, and Rosenior is expecting similar treatment as the Tigers look to complete a league double over Town for the first time since the 2012/13 campaign.

“We’ll just play the best we can, let me put it like that,” Rosenior said with a smirk when Thomas’ bullying comments were put to him, before going on to talk about today’s referee Rebecca Welch, who earned staunch praise from Jacob Greaves for her display against Rotherham United earlier in the season.

“I’ve said this before, Fabio got fouled four times in the first six minutes of the game against Rotherham, I do feel that because of the way we play, because we’re a young time, because we play into people’s feet, I feel we need a little bit more understanding at times. I thought the referee was great on Tuesday (Leigh Doughty) by the way, but I do feel there needs to be a bit more understanding of what we’re trying to do, and what the opposition are trying to do as well.
