Dodgers Trade Manuel Margot to Twins
The Los Angeles Dodgers traded outfielder Manuel Margot to the Minnesota Twins on Monday. The news was first reported by Juan Toribio of MLB.com.
The Dodgers get back 21-year-old infielder Noah Miller from the Twins, a former 2021 first-round draft pick, as first reported by Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
The trade came before Margot even got the chance to play in the regular season for the Dodgers. The Dodgers traded for Margot and pitcher Tyler Glasnow in exchange for Ryan Pepiot and Jonny DeLuca back in December.
In a recent interview with Dodgers Nation, Padres general manager A.J. Preller — who acquired Margot from the Boston Red Sox for Craig Kimbrel in Nov. 2015 — praised the veteran outfielder’s positive energy and track record of success:
“Everybody knows he’s a good defender. Left-hand pitching, he’s hit well. The biggest thing with Manny is, he brings energy every day as well. He’s a great person, good family. We obviously made a big trade to get him. Then he broke in with us. Another guy you root for when he goes elsewhere because he’s just a really positive person that is going to fit in well on any team he’s on.”
