Ex-Cleveland Cavaliers 1st round pick signs with Atlanta Hawks
Former Cleveland Cavaliers forward Dylan Windler has signed a two-way contract with the Atlanta Hawks, the team announced Monday.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Windler, 27, has played 11 games this season for both the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers, the latter of which released him March 2. He is averaging 1.4 points in 3.2 minutes.
The 6-foot-6 small forward is in his fourth season in the NBA, the first three of which he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers after the team drafted him in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. He spent the 2019-20 season playing for the Cavs’ G-League affiliate, then-named the Canton Charge, before making his Cavaliers debut in December 2020. He averaged 3.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 11.7 minutes per game across 87 games played for the Cavs.
The Indianapolis native played four years collegiately for Belmont from 2015-19, averaging 13.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 128 games.
