Twins Pitcher Makes Clear Statement For 2024
The Minnesota Twins are hoping to build off their successful 2023 season.
For the first time in a long time, the Twins finally won a playoff series.
After winning the AL Central, they hosted the Toronto Blue Jays in the first round of the playoffs.
Sweeping the Blue Jays in the Wild Card round was a great moment for them.
That allowed them to take on the Houston Astros in the ALDS.
Even though they lost that series, they had one pitcher emerge that no one saw coming.
It was Chris Paddack, who has battled numerous injuries for many years, including multiple elbow reconstruction surgeries.
But, in the ALDS he threw 3.2 innings allowing one hit and striking out six.
According to The Athletic, Paddack is hoping to build off the dominance we saw in the ALDS.
“People forgot about me,” he said to Ken Rosenthal, before saying he is going to make sure everyone remembers how great he can be.
Paddack was once seen as a future star in MLB.
But that was back when he was a member of the San Diego Padres.
Since then, the aforementioned injuries have derailed his career.
But, if Paddack thinks he can get back to being an effective pitcher, the Twins will help him get there.
This would not be the first time we see a player resurrect his career with a new team.
Sometimes all it takes is a change of scenery and some injury luck to have things moving in the right direction.
All of Minnesota is hoping Paddack will become a viable option for them this season.
