FORT MYERS, Fla. — Tyler O’Neill has been scratched from the Red Sox lineup Friday against the Twins because of left calf tightness. Boston and Minnesota will play a Grapefruit League game at 6:05 p.m. at JetBlue Park.

O’Neill was penciled in to play right field in the first lineup the Red Sox released at 12:05 p.m. Boston sent out an updated lineup 26 minutes later with O’Neill being switched from right field to DH. The Red Sox then sent a second updated lineup at 4:28 p.m. with O’Neill scratched.

Jarren Duran will play right field and Nick Yorke will now serve as the DH.

O’Neill did not travel to the Dominican Republic with the Red Sox this past weekend because of calf tightness but he then played in Grapefruit League games both Tuesday and Thursday, going 2-for-5.
