Alan Myers shares how many points the Premier League could deduct from Everton and Nottm Forest
Everton are a side in freefall when viewing the form table, and may well have more bad news to come later in the season.
After all, having already navigated one points deduction, rumours are circulating suggesting that another could be just around the corner set to sting both Sean Dyche and Nottingham Forest.
There is not nearly as much coverage surrounding this second example of the Premier League’s newfound forceful nature, likely due to the boredom that such unrelenting financial matters impose upon the everyday match-going fan.
Well, seeking to offer his expert opinion on the matter, Alan Myers has attempted to ease worries.
Alan Myers makes Everton and Nottingham Forest deduction prediction
Myers has sought to provide Everton fans with key updates for years now, offering everything from transfer news to his personal opinion.
Taking to X, the Sky Sports reporter once again offered his thoughts on what the outcome might be for these two sides, reinforcing the suggestion he provides no inside knowledge with this suggestion.
He writes: ‘Honestly can’t say for sure but my guess would be 4-6 for Forest, and less for us (depending on outcome of Double Jeopardy claim)’.
Premier League will decide the relegation battle
Although by targeting Everton it seemed like the Premier League were just firing a shot at a side they knew they could wound without relegating them, in Forest it feels more malicious.
After all, at least the Toffees’ initial deduction came months ago, and offered the club ample time to fix the huge setback in ample time.
However, should the Tricky Trees see a similar six-point sanction or worse, enacted later on in the term, it marks a worrying alteration which would surely change the whole relegation landscape.
Meanwhile, Everton would likely only be dealt with a one or two-point penalty this time, far more manageable.
If Forest are on the receiving end of a severe punishment, it would surely condemn them to that third and final relegation spot alongside Burnley and Sheffield United.
Therefore, the Premier League have put themselves in a position where their decision, whether it be positive or negative for those who have allegedly breached PSR, will change everything.
