Jordan James transfer latest: Birmingham set asking price, Atalanta plans, player stance | OneFootball

Leicester City are keeping an eye on Birmingham City midfielder Jordan James, reporter Alan Nixon has said on his Patreon.

Leicester City are sat at the top of the Championship table while Birmingham City are fighting for survival down in 21st.

Despite the struggles of the latter, one player who has continued to catch the eye is midfielder James. The 19-year-old has been a first-team regular for some time and has now played 99 times for the Blues.

His tally of eight goals in 36 Championship games this season has seen his stock increase. Now, further interest in the Wales international is emerging.

Trusted reporter Alan Nixon has said on his Patreon that Leicester City have been in attendance at Birmingham City games to watch James. And, regardless of which division they could be in next season, they are firmly on the prospect’s trial.

Winter admirers Atalanta remain keen, as do Crystal Palace, but the Foxes are in the hunt as well.

A move away awaits?

While this season has been a tough one, Birmingham City are an ambitious club under their new ownership. They’ll hold hope of pushing up the league and will need to hold onto key players like James if they are to do that.

That said, as a flourishing talent with nearly 100 senior club appearances to his name at only 19, James’ stock is on the up and it might not be long before he gets a move to the top-flight.

Leicester City could offer him the chance to do so. Their promotion is far from guaranteed yet but if they are to return to the Premier League, they could be the ideal club for James to take the next step.

While they might maintain their interest even without promotion, you have to think top-flight football is next for the Birmingham City prospect. Where and when that will be though, only time will tell.
