Chicago selects the newly named BIG EAST Player of the Year for the latest B/R mock draft

While the Chicago Bulls are focused on finishing the final portion of the 2023-24 season on a high note, their fortunes and priorities are meanwhile starting to shape up for this year’s draft.

Conference tournaments are finally about to start, which now leads various executives from all NBA teams, including the Bulls, to focus on their scouting department.

Bulls pick Devin Carter at No. 12

In his latest 2024 NBA Mock Draft, Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman lands the Chicago Bulls at the No. 12 spot in which they’ll pick Devin Carter.

Carter, 21, is currently a junior for the Providence Friars. Wasserman identified Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski as his close pro comparison.

Devin Carter’s college background

The son of 12-year former NBA veteran Anthony Carter, Devin is widely pegged as one of the NBA-ready guards in this year’s class with his two-way skill set and versatility. And as he averaged 19.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.8 steals, the Providence standout was recently named the BIG EAST Player of the Year — the first player from the program history to capture the award since ex-Bull Kris Dunn in 2016.
