Hull City poised to sign Peterborough United defender this summer, report claims

Hull City are poised to sign Peterborough United defender Gergo Bodnar this summer, according to a report by Nemzeti Sport.

Hull City are set to snap up the right-back when his contract expires at the end of this season.

Bodnar, 18, has risen up through the academy ranks of the Posh.

Nemzeti Sport claim he is expected to head out the exit door for a new challenge in his career in the Championship with the Tigers.

Hull City to bring in Peterborough United full-back

Bodnar could be seen by Hull as one for the future as they look to bolster their development ranks.

The teenager has been a regular for Peterborough at various youth levels over recent years but sees his deal run out at the end of June.

Bodnar, who is from Hungary, can also play in the heart of defence or in midfield if needed.

The prospect spent time away from London Road on loan at Kettering Town in the campaign to get some experience under his belt in the National League North.

He then linked up with Barwell in January to get some more senior game time before recently returning to his parent club.

Hull have a proven track record of helping players progress with their careers, with the likes of Keane Lewis-Potter and Jarrod Bowen moving on for the Premier League, which makes them an attractive club to join these days.

The Tigers are currently away in Turkey on a training camp as they prepare for the final stretch of the season.

They are sat in 7th place in the table and are three points behind Norwich City in 6th with a game in-hand.

Liam Rosenior’s side take on Stoke City at home next Friday before heading to Elland Road to lock horns with Leeds United on Easter Monday.
