Roster Moves: Jaguars Make Two Additional Free Agency Moves; Sign Kicker and Outside Linebacker
JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed OLB Trevis Gipson and K Joey Slye, the team announced today.
Gipson was drafted by Chicago in the fifth round (155th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s played in 48 games with 19 starts in his career, recording 78 tackles (42 solo), 11.0 sacks, 21 quarterback hits, six forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He most recently spent the 2023 season with Tennessee where he appeared in eight games. Originally from Cedar Hills, Texas, Gipson attended Tulsa (2016-19) and earned first-team all-conference honors during his senior season.
Slye originally signed as a free agent with the New York Giants in 2019. Since then, he has spent time with Carolina (2020), Houston (2021), San Francisco (2021), and Washington (2022-23). Slye has played in 78 games, converting 121-of-147 field goals (82.3%), 138-of-156 extra points (88.5%), for a total of 501 points. Originally from Stafford, Va., Slye attended Virginia Tech (2016-18) and earned first-team All-ACC (Coaches) and third-team All-ACC (ACSMA) honors during his junior season.
