The Sacramento Kings shocked the world two seasons ago, but they couldn’t keep the pace going this season.

Mike Brown’s team struggled with inconsistency and had to deal with two key injuries late in the season, with Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk being on the shelf.

Still, they weren’t that far off from getting back to the payoffs, and they’ve shown to have the potential to be serious competitors.

With that in mind, the team is reportedly set to move some pieces to pursue a player who could help them win now.

According to a report by Evan Sidery of Forbes, the Kings will shop their No. 13 pick alongside the likes of Harrison Barnes and Kevin Huerter.

They firmly believe they can build a contending team around their star duo of De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

This makes sense, as Huerter has been a glue guy for them and a strong contributor for years now, but he’s also one of their most movable pieces.

As for Barnes, he’s past his prime years, and his salary isn’t always reflected in the court.

The Kings must make sure to keep Monk locked in for years to come, as he was one of the best players coming off the bench last season.

They’re well-coached and have two legitimate All-Stars leading the way.

The Western Conference isn’t going to get any easier or lighter in the foreseeable future, so they must be aggressive if they want to keep up with the competition.
