Phoenix Suns Targeting Point Guard With Intriguing Link to Franchise
The Phoenix Suns have the weapons to contend again for the title in the 2024-25 NBA season.
While they got embarrassingly swept in the first round of this year’s NBA Playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves, they still have the trio of Devin Booker , Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal. That’s enough for people to expect a lot of Phoenix, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have issues to address in the offseason.
Point guard linked to the Phoenix Suns ahead of 2024 NBA Draft
One item on the Suns’ checklist is finding a point guard unless they want to keep riding on the shoulders of Booker for PG duties. A name that is being linked to the Suns through their No. 22 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft to address their point guard need is Marquette Golden Eagles star Tyler Kolek.
Kolek was not just one of the best college point guards last seasons but also among the best players. Period.
In 31 games with the Golden Eagles in the 2023-24 campaign, Kolek, who started his college career with the George Mason Patriots, averaged 15.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 7.7 assists through 31 games.
