Report: Tottenham tell Galatasaray to pay £8.5m to sign 28-year-old this summer
Sabah claim that Tottenham have told Galatasaray to pay €10m (£8.45m) to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer, although wages could be a problem for the Turkish side (via SportWitness).
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is expected to leave Tottenham
Hojbjerg, who seems likely to be on the move this summer, has reportedly told his representatives that he wants to be fighting for titles every season at his next club.
Although the Turkish league may not be considered one of the top five European leagues, both Galatarasay and Fenerbahce are interested in Hojbjerg this season.
This would seemingly give the Denmark midfield a chance to fight for the Super Lig trophy next season, if he decides that a move to Turkey is right for him and his family.
Galatasaray told to pay £8.45m to sign Hojbjerg
Galatasaray have reportedly been in contact with Spurs already this summer, who have told the Turkish side to pay €10m (£8.45m) in order to land Hojbjerg.
While this is deemed an affordable price for Gala, Hojbjerg is said to want a four-year contract with €5m-per-year in wages, taking the full cost of the operation up to €30m.
Galatasaray are hoping that Hojbjerg will drop his demands a little this summer, while Fenerbahce are also still interested in the Danish star.
Spurs Web Opinion:
With the greatest respect, I expect Hojbjerg to go for more money and to a bigger team than either Galatasaray or Fenerbahce this summer.
The only way he ends up there is if Tottenham can’t get more money for him elsewhere and the main European transfer window closes – like what happened with Davinson Sanchez.
