The Golden State Warriors will look very different next season.

For the first time in 13 years, they won’t have Klay Thompson on their roster.

And while it won’t be the first time Stephen Curry is out there without his backcourt sidekick, who missed back-to-back seasons with injuries, it’ll be the first time he’s not even there in the locker room.

Needless to say, that’s a major difference for the franchise, and especially for Curry, who’s spent most of his career with Thompson also on the floor.

That’s why the four-time NBA champion claimed that this hasn’t really sunk in yet (via Yahoo Sports).

Talking to Vincent Goodwill, Curry admitted that he still hasn’t come around to the fact that Thompson won’t be out there anymore.

Curry made it loud and clear over and over that he wanted Thompson to stay with the team.

Thompson, however, urged Curry not to use his leverage to get the team to pay him the kind of contract he was looking for, as he wanted the team to want him there because of him and not because of their star player’s demands.

He’s now the first member of the dynasty to leave.

Against all odds and despite all speculation, the Warriors still paid Draymond Green, who seemed closer to leaving than staying, yet they didn’t take the same approach with Thompson.

Now, he’s teamed up with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving and will have those games against the Warriors marked on his calendar.
