West Ham United finalise deal to sign new striker from South Coast club

West Ham United have completed the signing of Brad Dolaghan from Worthing, the club have announced.

The Hammers announced via their website on 16 August a deal for the 19-year-old who has signed his first professional contract after a successful trial.

The forward will join the Under-21 development squad after a successful breakout season in the National League South where played as a regular for the Rebels.

The youngster has earned himself a move to the London Stadium after a positive stint in English football’s sixth tier.

This is no mean feat given the typical physical nature of the lower leagues and just 19, his performances definitely caught the eye.

Dolaghan scored six times despite only featuring from the start in five matches which saw him feature in the playoff semi-final and final.

After missing out on promotion to the National League, the Hammers capitalised on their interest and invited the forward to the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens tournament.

It is clear that he impressed during this spell and now will have the chance to prove himself in the academy set up for the Irons.

There has been a striker problem for years at the London Stadium with Niclas Fullkrug the latest in a long line to try and solve them.

Although he is probably a long way off, Dolaghan will be hopeful he can take up that role in years to come.
