WHKY: Camryn Drever & Isabella Pozzi Sign with Skellefteå AIK of the Swedish Hockey League

SKELLEFTEÅ, SWEDEN – Standout Huskie women’s hockey alumni Camryn Drever and Isabella Pozzi are set to reunite on the ice, with the pair each inking one-year deals with Skellefteå AIK of the Swedish Hockey League.

was recently promoted to the Swedish Women’s Hockey League (Svenska damhockeyligan or SDHL) after having previously competed in the NDHL (Nationella Damhockeyligan). The team defeated AIK in two games in March to earn the promotion to the highest level of women’s hockey in Sweden.

For goaltender Camryn Drever, she heads overseas following a record-setting season in her final year wearing green and white. The Edmonton, Alberta product set a new Huskie record for wins in a season, earning 15 victories while recording 5 shutouts, a 1.33 goals against average, and the best save percentage in the nation. For her incredible performance between the pipes, she was recognized as the Canada West Player and Goaltender of the Year and would later add a U SPORTS second team All-Canadian nod to her resume. The 2023-24 season cemented Drever as one of the best goalies in Huskie history, finishing her career with 39 wins, a 1.47 goals against average, a .942 save percentage, and 1771 total saves, which all rank within the top 5 in program history. In addition to her impressive career with the Huskies, Drever appeared on the international stage during her time at the University of Saskatchewan, representing Canada at the 2023 FISU World University Games where she earned a gold medal.

Drever will be joined in Sweden by former Huskie blueliner Isabella Pozzi, who also wrapped up an impressive career following the 2023-24 U SPORTS women’s hockey season. Pozzi appeared in over 150 games across her Huskie career, earning 36 points (5 G, 31 A) and adding 5 more (2 G, 3 A) in the postseason. The product of Calgary, Alberta was a staple on the Huskies backend after joining the team ahead of the 2018-19 season, representing the green and white in five Canada West playoff runs and two U SPORTS Championship appearances. At the 2022 U SPORTS Championships Pozzi was named a tournament all-Star after helping lead the Huskies to a bronze medal finish and was later named the team’s most impressive defenceman for the 2021-22 season. Pozzi also suited up for Canada in international play as a member of the 2023 FISU team where she served as an alternate captain and earned a gold medal.
