Leeds attack faces setback as key forward doubtful for Cardiff City clash

Leeds United need a bounce-back win on the road when they travel to Cardiff City Stadium to face 24th-place side Cardiff City. However, the Whites could be without a key player for this match.

Daniel Farke and his team are coming off a gut-wrenching 1-0 loss at home to promotional rival Burnley. Leeds’ inability to score has been a topic of discussion in recent days.

In three of their first six matches across all competitions, Leeds have failed to score a goal. Moreover, scoring will be more challenging now that a key player will likely be out for the matchup against Cardiff City.

Manor Solomon in doubt to face Cardiff City?

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Manor Solomon has played two Championship matches for Leeds since joining the club in late August. The 25-year-old has played on the left wing while providing one assist so far into his stint at Elland Road.

However, the BBC’s Adam Pope reports that Solomon is a major question mark for Leeds in this massive road match as the squad attempts to get back into the top six with a victory.

“Leeds United winger Manor Solomon is the major injury doubt with a back problem ahead of Saturday’s Championship fixture at Cardiff City,” Pope wrote on X Thursday. “Patrick Bamford expected to be involved.”

Missing the forward for this match will be a significant blow to Leeds’ attack, which is looking to find the back of the net more consistently. It will be interesting to see who Farke decides to go with if Solomon can’t go and whether it’s the right formula to break Leeds out of this goal-scoring funk they’re currently in to start this season.

Solomon might not be the only Leeds player who could miss this contest against Cardiff City, as Max Wober is another question mark.
