The son of West Coast Eagles legend David Hart tragically died at the weekend, leaving his family “heartbroken and devastated”.
Kye David Hart, who lived on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, died on Saturday.
The 24-year-old’s death has devastated his family, including former AFL player Hart, who played for West Coast in the 1980s and 90s, where he gained All-Australian selection and won a premiership in 1994.
Kye had followed in his father’s footsteps and played in the QAFL for the Noosa Tigers.
A GoFundMe has been created for the grieving family in the wake of the tragedy.
“We are absolutely heartbroken and devastated. There aren’t enough words to describe how much we love Kye and how much we will miss him,” family member Jess Hart said.

“In this incredibly difficult time we are reaching out for your support to navigate through the challenging times ahead. The funds raised will go towards covering immediate expenses and funeral costs.”
In a statement, West Coast sent their sympathy to the Hart family.
“We send our heartfelt condolences to David Hart and his family on the passing of his son, Kye. Sending all our love and support to the Hart family.”
