The Montreal Canadiens Seem to Have Reached a Verdict on Logan Mailloux
If we go by the choices made by the Montreal Canadiens, it looks like young defenseman Logan Mailloux is headed to the Laval Rocket.
Whether it’s the composition of the groups, lineup decisions for various preseason games, or even the choices made for power play units, everything indicates that Logan Mailloux will start the season with the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League.
The Laval Rocket for Logan Mailloux: It Really Seems to Be Already Decided
This is notably reported by the excellent Anthony Marcotte.
Add to all this: Jayden Struble’s excellent camp, the fact that Kent Hughes doesn’t want to lose Justin Barron to waivers, and the spot easily secured by Lane Hutson on defense.
It’s quickly clear that there won’t be enough room in the lineup on defense for the opening game of the 2024-2025 season.
And in your opinion, which defensemen should make up Martin St-Louis’s top-6 to start the regular season?
It’s fair to say that Jayden Struble adds an interesting dimension and has truly earned his place in the lineup, at least to start the season.
Anyway, even if Mailloux starts with the Laval Rocket, I really get the feeling he’ll be in Montreal sooner rather than later, especially if Justin Barron has a tougher start to the season.
A story to follow!
Let’s also remember that for now, the Habs players have headed to Mont-Tremblant to further strengthen their already strong bonds in preparation for the new season.
