Grumpy when Brynäs took their eighth straight win

Brynäs took their eighth straight win after a 4–3 win against Växjö.

And there were heated feelings between the players on the ice.

“They are really angry at each other,” says TV4’s commentator Peter Backe.

The newcomer from Gävle has been a breath of fresh air this season. Brynäs topped the SHL before Thursday night’s round.

At home in Monitor ERP arena, Växjö Lakers came to visit.

The visitors took the lead when Brian Cooper found the right way in the second period. But before the third could begin, Brynäs had turned around.

Jordan Schroeder equalized before Anton Rödin shot 2-1. And it must be considered well deserved.

When the period was played, the Lakers had only fired nine shots.

– That’s probably how it usually looks against Växjö, says Brynäs coach Niklas Gällstedt in TV4 Play.

Took eighth straight win in extra time

The final stage of the middle act was messy. First, the away team’s goalkeeper Emil Larmi got into a fight with Brynäs forward Bobby Trivigno.

“Larmi is really angry at Trivigno who ends up over Larmi and is in no great hurry to get out of there,” says TV4 commentator Peter Backe.

Shortly afterwards, it was Emil Sylvegård and Johan Larsson who ended up at each other’s throats. Both players had to start the third period in the penalty box.

– Sylvegård does his part to bring Växjö to life and annoy the Brynäs players, says Backe.

It had the desired effect. The away team quickly equalized through Felix Robert.

With just over six minutes left, Charle-Edouard D’Astous made it 3-2 for Brynäs. But Manuel Ågren equalized with a minute left to play and took the game to extra time.

Jordan Schroeder scored his second goal of the evening.

The victory was Brynäs’ eighth in a row. It is a club record.
